07/11  Suntory, AU and Dentsu Mobile Marketing Campaign from 2003, early 2004?

I couldn't find out from when this QR Code campaign is. I suppose it's from the early days of mobile QR Codes, say 2003, early 2004.

If you happen to arrive on this blog for the first time ever and you ask yourself what these pixelated chesslike thingies on the right could mean, you should really watch this. It takes some time to download, but it explains quite well how they work and it does so by letting you interact.

The PREMIUM MALTS X AU Cellphone
This crossmedia advertising project is a collaboration between AU Cellphones by KDDI and The PREMIUM MALTS by SUNTORY. By putting the PREMIUM MALTS advertisement in magazines, we aim to expand the appeal of AU Cellphones to the thirties to forties age group. This is the first project of its type in the world involving magazines, websites for cellphones and QR Codes.

Dear Pet Shop Boys,
If you happen to read this and if it's possible, couldn't we post the poster here as a PDF? We think we are not the only ones who would love to scan it. And if there is a possibility to get one in paper form, we wouldn't mind either;)

Our address:
Kaywa AG | Technoparkstrasse 1 | CH-8005 Zurich

That would be very nice.
You did an awesome job. Thanks again

07/11  QR Codes in Germany (I): Scan and go shopping

Category: QR Code, Data Matrix...    By editor at 00:36
The roman one is not completely true, as there have been already several QR Code projects in Germany as for example Staatstheater Darmstadt (I'll come back on the newest developments in roman two), Jost van Brandis as well as Spex.

For this post, I want to talk about a very cool idea from Rezeptor, the Zeit Food Blog.

For some time now, you will find underneath every recipe a QR Code. What is it for?
Very simply and ingeniously - and at the last mobile tagging seminar together with Ringier and Swisscom women adored this - the QR Code gives you the ingredients as a simple text list. You don't need to connect to the internet and you don't have to write the ingredients down or print them. Just scan the QR Code and go shopping. Fun and convenience, as they say in Japan.
