I do find that in our modern society, mobility is the ultimate goal to being a successful human being. One does not have to go far here in Switzerland to see the effects of such conceptions. Living close to Zurich, Switzerland, I find busy people living in the city. Last week, a friend's mobile phone was ringing in the car and he somehow had misplaced it. After a few seconds he had all signs of a panic attack. I had to advise him to simply leave the car and look around in the car, instead of going all crazy sitting in the drivers seat.
I agree, we all love the amenities of modern life, but we should not go to all extremes.
