08/12 Tinytube, 3gp and mobile streaming

Tinytube QR Code
TinyTube which lost its parent recently (see Katie's GigaOm story) also offers streaming, but it didn't work on my Nokia 6630 . The preinstalled RealPlayer was opened, but it said: "unable to connect".
At the same time I was asked, with what formats you can do mobile streaming. As we did so far mobile down- and uploads of 3GP Files (.3gp) and online streaming, my response was that you can stream also with 3GP Files (.3gp), but that you need Real-time Transport Protocol/Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTP/RTSP) and a Streaming Server to do it (see Apple's streaming solution).
If someone can point me to good links concerning mobile streaming, I will happily add them here.

Dear Howie,
I checked the sites, but I didn't find a mobile streaming solution.
So in case I already have my 3gp-video, could I then stream it with any capable streaming server? Or do I still need the company in the french part of CH to do it?

Mywaves, which Katie wrote about some time back, uses 3gp video and streams well on the two phones that I have tried it with. I am not sure what software they use to do the actual streaming.

Pending on your questions there are several way's to stream:
1. User-Sinlge-Stream-Request
2. Perma-Streaming
3. Circuid-Switch-Straming
1.
With the CH-Cellcos you can send a Stream directly to the Enduser-cellphone via MMS (Max. 100 kb- size, because the MMSC-Gateway of the cellco those not allow more - yet.). E.g. the User send an SMS - or better scann an QR-Code ;) - to an Nr. Afther that, he gets the 3gp-Movie via MMS on his cell.
2. Many of exsiting Streamigsolution-Providers/Companys PacketVideo, Real Newtorks, Apple etc. has allready enhanced theirs solutions for the delivery on mobile cells. The "Egg" is at the Cellco (CH). For Peramestraming you will need to have tho their MNO-Network and need therefore access to various interfaces and protocolls - which are so far - not open to "anybody". Right know they use it mostly for activities for themselves (Handytagesschau etc.).
3. The last Verioson should be availalbe in CH arround Q1/07 which will not be trouhg an MNO served. This solution is based that the User via an UMTS-enabled-Cell makes a call/send an sms/scanns a qr-code ;) - and then after that will be connected to yours content in the internet. This content can be Text, Video, Pics etc. and allows interaction wie Voice betweend groups/users = 121/12m etc.. The delivery from those contents as well as the user-inter-action to the enduseres cell will be made via cirrcuid switch-protocoll - where we you do not need the MNO at all :).

I just got a data plan on my mobile. I pretty much do not need my computer anymore since I do so much with my mobile phone. The neatest thing is that I can even watch naughty movies:) It is pretty neat, it's called Mobile TV. All I do is point my phone to sexoncell.com and they have adult mobile movies in different formats like 3gp movies, symbian, pda or whatever. If you have any other cool sites, please let me know! This one, though, even has a free daily mobile movie.
