Your post is excellent. Have you heard about the mobile tag ? it is a company developping a tag with the technology data matrix, When you scan it you go on the web.
It's very cool ... (I am working on this company!!!)
They are developping this application all over Europe.

Well, with the Kaywa Reader you can read Mobile Tags too - as we also support Datamatrix;)
