15/3  Nokia's Lifeblog

Category: Nokia    By editor at 09:58
Not much time at the moment, but I had to blog it, as it shows how "blogging, moblogging" is getting momentum, even if Christian Lindholm says that Lifeblog is not properly a weblog as we understand it. See below.

Lifeblog has seen the daylight
Nokia Lifeblog, our multimedia diary is finally out in open daylight. It feels great.
says Christian Lindholm.

The Guardian writes:
Weblogging aficionados will also note that, despite using the word "blog" in its name, the Lifeblog does not (yet) allow sharing of its contents on the web.

www.livejournal.com has just announced that it will support weblogging using LifeBlog.
Free users of LiveJournal can post text, paid users will be able to post pictures also (but currently not video files).

As far as I can find out, LifeBlog is only available for a small selection of Nokia phones (which is annoying to those of us who have recent SonyEricsson devices and a LiveJournal!)

Hi Magician,
Yes indeed - only a very small selection of Nokia phones support Lifeblog. As Lifeblog is a Nokia product, Sony Ericsson phones will not support it. This will probably never happen as Ericsson and Nokia are competitors.

So the support of Lifeblog for LiveJournal is a natural evolution out of the partnership between SixApart and Nokia.

IMHO the best would be if Nokia would make Lifeblog an open-source technology. Then probably other phone manufacturers would also adopt it.
