16/6  Mobile Tagging the City of Innsbruck

Category: QR Code, Data Matrix...    By editor at 14:49
At the Microlearning Conference in Innsbruck on Tuesday, June 21, Martin Hofmann and I will have a Microcafé Session about Mobile Tags, Mobile Codes:
Mobile Tagging the City of Innsbruck
Prof. Martin Hofmann, PHR; Roger Fischer, Kaywa

The camera phone together with 2d barcodes (two dimensional barcodes) like the QR Code and Datamatrix Code respectively Semacode have the potential to change the way we access information about objects and things in daily life. In Japan 2d barcodes for mobile phones are in widespread use, in Europe we are just starting.

With the project «Mobile Tagging the City of Innsbruck» we will explain, how objects from the real world can become links to digital information about them, simply by using a normal mobile phone.

During the session, we will show participants the tools for mobile tagging and what kind of applications are already in use. Every participant will also get a possibility to try out mobile tagging himself.
