Taipei, Taiwan; July 21, 2006 – ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS) today introduced the V80 slim camera handset, which delivers 2M-pixel resolution, auto focus and 10cm close-up functions.
[...] QR Code is already widely implemented in the most technologically advanced countries such as Japan and South Korea. The V80 adopted this new innovation by incorporating the QR Code scanner and barcode decoding software.
QR Codes, which are barcode representations of website addresses, phone numbers or any information, will be included on advertisements, product packaging brochures or posters. Simply scan the code and the V80 mobile phone will automatically connect to the appropriate websites for fast online access and convenient information download.

Hi, Do you know the QRCode reader of ASUS V80 is powered by QuickMark. QuickMark is alos supporting Symbian S60 (1st, 2rd, 3rd) devices ? (and also the other feature phone, smart phone and PDA) ;-)

No, I didn't know that the ASUS V80 is powered by QuickMark. Well it's a good thing that there are other QR readers on the market;) - this will drive the whole QR Business.
Did you compare our Kaywa Reader to the Quickmark Reader for Series 60?
I would like to know your opinion about it:)

I must say, Kaywa reader is excelled. The software has better user inteface and good reading performance when recognizing big version qrcode. Especially, you can read DataMatrix with Kaywa reader. That's very cool! :D
BTW, ASUS launched another device named J201 which has QuickMark biulded-in early of this month. :-)

To anyone that has this phone please tell me what is the price in your currency.
And some qustions...
1. Is the flash of the light is like a Flash of a cammera or just a light?
2. Are the speakers of the V80 loud?
3. Can this phone send and connect to other bluetooth devices easily?
2006-11-24 10:30:44
around P10900 at wellcom... flash i think is an LED bulb, speakers are loud, haven't tested yet the bluetooth data transfer, but since it is V1.2 expect a transfer rate that is 3 times slower than V2.0 (around 0.7mb/s as compared to 2.1mb/s for V2.0).

I wanna get the V80 soon but What's the real deal, Is the V80 Triband or quadband? Coz I went to welcom the other day and they say it's triband and yet specs posted on the internet says mostly quadband and a few say their triband. Wanna be able to use it in the US so it's safer to get quadband
