Super!

Suls,
Sorry, about that. We found an error with the k750i and it will fixed. We will upgrade on Monday. You can then immediately upgrade it through the Reader on your mobile.

Nokia N80 is surely one of the next phones, as for the other I can't give you any indication yet.

Hans,
Why? What is the problem? Let us know. It will help others as well.

Hans,

how did you download/install the Reader? E.g. did you download the Zip file from the web or by pointing your phone's browser to http://reader.kaywa.com/ and installing it directly?

Hans
2006-09-27 16:06:47

My process:
download from kaywa.com → unzip → send kaywareader.jar to my k600i by irDA.

but when i turn on kaywa reader, there're only white screen and nothing happend....

only i can do is restart my k600i.

Hans
2006-09-27 16:33:32

OK,
I've trying download Kaywa reader for my k600i via 3G and i finally can turn on kaywareader on my k600i.

(i don't know why, maybe there're not the same file from webpage & mobile version page)

here is a new problem,
K600i has 2 cams one is smaller on the same side with screen, another is bigger & better but on the back of the phone.

now this version of kaywa reader has a same problem with any other QR-code Reader.... they can only use front cam,
It's hard to focus on the bar code..

Hi Hans,
It looks like you downloaded only the jar-File and missed out on the jad-File on your desktop PC/Mar. Try the jad first and then the jar.

That's why you got the "white screen with Java logo while nothing happens". This appears if you only download the jar-File.

Super Tipp!

Hallo Martin,
Danke für die Korrektur: Natürlich - SMS an 202 mit "Mobiletag"

In Switzerland you can also send an SMS to 202 with "Mobiletag" to download the Kaywa Reader.

Or you can directly go to http://reader.kaywa.com with your mobile phone.

Hi, Roger.

I tried to install KaywaReader on SE W800i, SE K750i and Motorola v3. In some SE W800i devices, your software display a error messages "Camera not available. Please restart the reader. If problem continues, another application may be using the camera. Close that application and try again." It's a error, since there is only application is running. But on some model manufactured by the other countries, it can run the reader without a problem.

You should put the jad file into the jar file, that can help people install your software more easily. Well done! A j2me reader support QRCode and DataMatrix.

Salut Roger

Herzlichst Martin

Hi I'm trying to use the reader with the Nokia N90. When I put the N90 in "camera mode" (So the camera is facing forward and the screen rotates to landscape mode) I am unable to use the reader anymore.
The default N90 camera app takes over screen.
Any suggestions?

BTW, the reader works with the camera in it's default position, which is pointing at right angles to the view of the screen, so makes it near impossible to get a clear shot.

Did you try the new version 1.5?

All the others,
Did you try the new java version 1.29?

You can download it via your current reader.

Guys,

I've tried with N90 also ... Roger ... why does the ver 1.5 show up as 1.05 on the About dialog ? Also, when I turn the screen, it goes to the regular camera mode ... when I turn it back, it says camera is in use .. also, autofocus is off ... (which makes reading smaller codes very very hard ...) Is there any way for Kaywa to use the autofocus on this phone ? I think that would help a lot ... Thanks.

Hi Roger,

tibor

Tibor,
Sorry for the late answer. The best way to get a quick answer is by sending an email to reader at kaywa dot com.

Have you downloaded the newest version 1.32. It's in many ways superior to the older version. Open your Kaywa Reader and then go to Options (Optionen) and then Check for updates (Software aktualisieren).

Let me know about the new experience:)

Also tried to install on a SE W550i. Upload via USB, then installed via *.jad -> only a white screen & hang up.

Thanks for helping.

I figured out how to install on a SE 750i without downloading it direct to the phone:

- Download the ZIP file from Kaywa
- Connect the phone up via the USB cable to a PC with the SE PC Suite software on it.
- Copy the KaywaReader.JAR and KaywaReader.JAD files into the 'Other' folder on your phone.
- Open the File Manager app on the phone and navigate to the 'Other' folder. There should be two files labelled KaywaReader in here; use More -> Information to find out which one is the .JAD file and install that *not* the larger. JAR file.

That's the only I've managed to get the files across to my 750i and run properly (i.e. no white screen) without downloading directly to the phone (I have no data tariff on this phone).

Hi,

The Kaywa QR Reader seems to work on my SE K810i.

I wouldn't say that it was entirely stable but it does work.

Thanks Barry.
That's great.
What do you mean by not entirely stable?

Roger,
Main problem on SE K810i is that the image on the camera screen is inverted. When I move camera up and down, then image moves from left to right (and vice versa). Decode still works but it is difficult to aim camera.
The camera doesn't always initialise but using Back button usually cures that.
Messages appear asking for permission to use camera etc. Are these normal?

Barry

Hello all,

I have the same problems with K810i. Maybe anybody can give us a information, which software are works with K810i.
I checked the Software K750i; K800i and W810i. But they doesn't works with K810i

I have the same issue with the camera of the k810i. The problem is that I cannot get the reader to work in anyway.

Kaywa is the best reader out there but without k810i support it's useless to me. :(
